CLAUDIA GERINGER

Claudia Geringer holds a bachelor’s degree in Comparative Literature from the University of Vienna and is currently pursuing a masters in Art and Cultural Studies at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. She is an archival assistant at the Austrian Archives for Exile Studies, Literaturhaus Wien. Her work focuses mainly on organizing and documenting estates of Austrian writers and artists who were forced into exile or emigration after 1933/38. She has published articles on topics including emigration, exile, memory and cinema. As part of a workshop at Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF, she has also filmed and directed the short film “covered with footprints” (2019). She is currently working on a documentary film project using oral history interviews on the topic of food and exile.
